Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Winter is Missouri gets really cold! Soups and stews become a staple item this time of year. Cheddar Bay biscuits are great to have on the side with both.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Another long time favorite – we frequently serve these with Chicken Noodle Soup and Beef Stew.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups Bisquick Baking mix
  • 4 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup cold milk
  • 1/4 teaspooon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter.  Don’t mix too thoroughly.  There should be small chunks of butter that are about the size of peas.  Add cheddar cheese, milk, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.  Mix until just combined.
    Drop approximately 1/4 cup portions of the dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 15-17 minutes or until the top of biscuits are light brown.
    Mix 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes in a small bowl and then use a pastry brush to brush on the top of the hot biscuits.
