Brightly Colored Candy Store Pumpkin Quilt

Brightly Colored Candy Store Pumpkin Quilt

With outdoor temperatures quickly rising, it is hard to think about the cool temperatures of fall – but they will be here soon! I always thought once the July 4th celebrations were over, that the rest of the summer just flew by! This Fallhouse Farm…

Summer Sampler 2021: Vintage Restyle

Summer Sampler 2021: Vintage Restyle

Last summer I signed up for the Summer Sampler 2021: Vintage Restyle Sew-A-Long. I learned so much from this group! The vintage inspired blocks were given a modern twist and each block was designed by a different quilt designer. Each Monday morning during the Sew-A-Long,…

Spring has Sprung – and Easter is On The Way!

Spring has Sprung – and Easter is On The Way!

I love all the seasons, but spring and fall are definitely my favorites! When the crocus and daffodils start blooming and we have a few 70 degree days it is so nice to be outdoors! So energizing! Last week I started raking the fall leaves so I could uncover the little flowers popping up in our flower beds and borders. That also means it is time to add some touches of spring to the inside! One of our favorite Easter decorations is this dog that greets everyone as they come in the door. The little duck is from my Grandma Steinhauser.

This little Chickee Poo in a Tutu was just too cute to pass up! She reminds me of my girls dressing up when they were little.

Such pretty pink flowers ! They brighten up my kitchen window. The little Williraye figures make me smile.

I found this garden tray at a Cameron store the other day and thought it was adorable.

Fluffy little chicks – Berkley liked playing with these the other day when he was here. My sister, Laurie, gave me the heartfelt message.

Simple little bunnies may be the best!

Although I do like a bunny covered in glitter too! Note the squirrel eating from the bird feeder in the background.

Or silver bunnies…okay – hard to find a cute Easter bunny I don’t like.

Sweet little woodland creatures ready for spring!

Happy Spring and Happy Easter! Wishing you lots of sunshine and happy times!

Happy Valentine’s Day! A Sweetheart Quilt in the Making!

Happy Valentine’s Day! A Sweetheart Quilt in the Making!

Don’t you love making special projects for holidays? This “Sweetheart” quilt pattern just looked adorable! I put it on my list of things to make and set a goal to have it done by Valentine’s Day and just barely met my deadline. It was designed by Nadra Ridgeway. She has so many creative, clever and beautiful quilting designs on her website. I loved the pattern, the vintage inspired fabrics and the patchwork border.

The little hearts with bows look like boxes of chocolates!

I selected 5 different red print fabrics for the hearts and then 5 different vintage-inspired fabrics to add pops of color. There is something so satisfying about being creative, laying all the fabrics out and combining colors and designs. This would also be a great quilt to make using your fabric stash.

These are some of my favorite hearts! Now to get it quilted and the binding on.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!

Stitch Up A Trendy Triangle Baby Quilt

Stitch Up A Trendy Triangle Baby Quilt

Baby quilts are such special gifts – many of them will become family heirlooms. This Trendy Triangle Baby Quilt is super simple to sew together and, if you use a Cricut to cut out the pieces, it is really fast and easy to cut out. The design is by Riley Blake and it is available on Cricut Design Space.

Our ping pong table works as a perfect place to lay out the pieces.

The white borders that frame each square really make all the colors look bright and colorful.

This quilt is 37.5 inches by 44.75 inches, but you could add a wider border if you want to increase the size.

This quilt was quilted at Crossroads Quilting Shop in Cameron, MO. They did a beautiful job!

My daughter-in-law, Lauren, and her sister, Renee, show the quilt to my grandson, Berkley, at his birthday party. It will look really cute in his room. So fun to sew for family!
