Two Versions of Rye Bread to Bake for St. Patrick’s Day or Any Day!

Two Versions of Rye Bread to Bake for St. Patrick’s Day or Any Day!

It just seems like you should have rye bread around this time of year. I decided to make a batch of rye bread this was so easy and so delicious,

You just mix all the ingredients in a bowl, let it rise for about one hour, shape the dough and let it rise another 40 minutes, then bake for about 20 minutes. The total time is about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

I really like the rustic artisan look of this rye bread.

I used the recipe in the post below, except I did add 2 tablespoons of King Arthur Flour’s Rye Bread Improver. It is supposed to give rye bread a better rise, tangy rye flavor and a moist texture. It was so good! Click on the post below for recipe and photos of the dark rye bread. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

The dark rye bread is also delicious!

Make The Honey Wheat English Muffins That You Love at Home!

Make The Honey Wheat English Muffins That You Love at Home!

Would you like a fun baking project? Try making your own English Muffins -they are so much better than what you buy in the store – which I think are amazing too! Baking Honey Wheat English Muffins was the baking challenge this month on Sally’s Baking Blog. Her post has excellent directions and a video to help you through the process.

This recipe has a combination of all-purpose (or bread flour) and whole wheat flour and it sweetened with honey. English Muffins are a no-knead bread and can be made in your mixer or mixed a wooden spoon or spatula.

English Muffins can be eaten plain…but why do that? They are best toasted, then you can fill all those little “nooks and crannies” with butter – oh so good! Perfect for breakfast or with a hearty soup at dinnertime. You could also sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture for a sweet snack. English Muffins can be used to make breakfast sandwiches or Eggs Benedict.

You might want to grab a jar of your favorite jam or honey and spread it on the freshly toasted English Muffins.

You can make the English Muffins you love at home! Try this fun baking experiment! Enjoy!

Possibly the Best Recipe for Zucchini!

Possibly the Best Recipe for Zucchini!

I have made many zucchini recipes over the years – but I think this one is my all-time favorite! It is like zucchini bread, banana cake and chocolate chunk cookies all combined into one amazing dessert! With zucchini being in abundant supply this time of year, this is the perfect time to try a new recipe.

Even without the frosting this looks delicious! So many flavors – zucchini, banana, honey, cinnamon and chocolate. Your kitchen will smell like a bakery! Like you just lit your favorite fall candle!

Then you add more deliciousness! The powdered sugar frosting has a cream cheese and butter base and then you add a bit of coffee and vanilla. You just have to try to know how good this is!

So moist and flavorful! Plus it is so easy to make!

You could also add a few fall decorations or chocolate sprinkles to make it extra special! Enjoy! Like so many breads, this is even better the second day. I warm it up just about 5-10 seconds in the microwave -makes the perfect snack. Enjoy!
