Create Sweet Valentine Surprises – Make Your Own Cocoa Bombs

Create Sweet Valentine Surprises – Make Your Own Cocoa Bombs

What sweet Valentine gifts these would be! These adorable cocoa bombs would be a fun project, especially knowing you are going to make someone so happy when you give them these specially made Valentine surprises. Then later they will smile again when they use the cocoa bombs to make a perfect mug of hot cocoa.

You will need melting wafers (I have found that they are much more forgiving and so much easier to work with than chocolate), heart or circular molds, hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, and of course – lots of sprinkles! Optional items include a bench scraper to clean off edges of the mold (once the wafers have set) and squeeze bottle or pastry bag with piping tube to fill with melted wafers so you can fill in any little gaps around the edges.

I used the white melting wafers in the circular molds for these, and then melted pink and red wafers to drizzle over the top right before adding the Valentine sprinkles.

The heart shaped molds make adorable cocoa bombs! These are the dark pink wafers -they make such pretty treats! It does take more wafers to fill the heart shape molds, compared to the circular ones.

The red wafers make very pretty traditional Valentine gifts. Look on the Etsy and Pinterest sites for many creative Valentine cocoa bomb decorating ideas.

Create a plate of mixed treats to share! Hot cocoa is always welcome on a chilly day -but watching these little treats “explode” in the warm milk is bound to make everyone happy!

Make take home gifts for everyone ! You can create individual treats by placing the cocoa bombs in snack bags and then tying them with pink or red ribbons. Makes a cute Valentine basket!

Make The Honey Wheat English Muffins That You Love at Home!

Make The Honey Wheat English Muffins That You Love at Home!

Would you like a fun baking project? Try making your own English Muffins -they are so much better than what you buy in the store – which I think are amazing too! Baking Honey Wheat English Muffins was the baking challenge this month on Sally’s Baking Blog. Her post has excellent directions and a video to help you through the process.

This recipe has a combination of all-purpose (or bread flour) and whole wheat flour and it sweetened with honey. English Muffins are a no-knead bread and can be made in your mixer or mixed a wooden spoon or spatula.

English Muffins can be eaten plain…but why do that? They are best toasted, then you can fill all those little “nooks and crannies” with butter – oh so good! Perfect for breakfast or with a hearty soup at dinnertime. You could also sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture for a sweet snack. English Muffins can be used to make breakfast sandwiches or Eggs Benedict.

You might want to grab a jar of your favorite jam or honey and spread it on the freshly toasted English Muffins.

You can make the English Muffins you love at home! Try this fun baking experiment! Enjoy!

Is It Too Early for Bunnies?

Is It Too Early for Bunnies?

My husband bought me an embroidery machine for my birthday, mainly so that I could add names and dates to quilts that our grandmothers had made. I am learning that there are so many more things that you can use embroidery machines for, other than just monograming. You can find patterns on sewing websites, Etsy stores and blogs. Your favorite fabric store may also carry embroidery patterns.

The “I’m All Ears Bunny” is the January Kimberbell monthly pattern. It is so adorable! It was designed to fit into a 3 1/2 inch embroidery hoop, but the design is the perfect size for a wide mouth Mason jar.

You can have fun dressing up your bunny by adding ribbons, bows or flowers. Fill the jar with candy or other fun treats and surprises. So cute! I may just have to make another one. Have a Happy Day!!!!
