Welcome Spring!

Welcome Spring!

There is still snow on the ground, but when March rolls around I am ready for spring! I love decorating our home for Christmas….then the house looks “naked” when all the holiday decorations come down. What do you decorate with from Christmas to spring – a few snowmen and evergreen? Just not as fun! But when spring time comes – the pastel colors, bunnies and chicks create a fun environment again!

Spring Wreath
Welcome to our home!

My decorations include a combination of traditional decorations we have had for years to thrift shop treasures, to new “toys” I couldn’t resist. In the next few posts I will share some of the little collections and spring vignettes that I have created.

Easter Dog
This “Easter Dog” welcomes you right inside our front door.
Girl in Chick costume
Chickiepoo in a Tutu – who could resist this? So adorable!

I usually put a placemat, tray or cutting board, under the collection. This makes it easier to move, if needed, or to clean. Sprinkle a bit of Easter grass and eggs to complete the look. Our living room now has spring sprinkled throughout.

Easter Bunny in Spring Flowers
Coffee table arrangement with thrift store vintage bunny and plate –
and some of my favorite spring flowers – peonies and lily of the valley.
Bunnies and Peonies
New bunnies added this spring. Love the color of these peonies.
Easter Bunny with Pink Flowers
Whimsical bunny looks happy.
I like to mix blue and white pieces in throughout the living room.
Robin on vintage book.
Last year I found several vintage garden books at a local thrift store. In the 60’s
many homes had a copy of this book and the Betty Crocker cookbook (or so I am told).
So fun to look at and to decorate with.

As the holidays and seasons change, it gives us the opportunity to be creative. I like to use a combination of things we have used many times and a few new ones to make it feel like home, but a bit different each time.

Enjoy decorating for spring! More ideas in the next post.
