Stitch Into Spring – Created Embroidered Towels

I have been having so much fun with my embroidery machine! I found these cute Spring designs on the Parker on the Porch website. I remember doing cross stitch patterns by hand….this is so much faster, easier and more enjoyable! This is a relatively new hobby for me, so I am still learning.

For these designs I used Floriani Perfect Stick Tear Away stabilizer in the hoop. This works well for items that are hard to hoop- like towels, napkins, collars or socks. It has a paper cover over the sticky stabilizer that stays on when you hoop your stabilizer, then you score around the inside edge of the hoop, revealing the sticky side. You place your item on the sticky stabilizer and you are ready to embroidery. Genius! Since these top two had such small stitches I also used a layer of Solvy, a water soluble stabilizer on top. Then to the embellishments – I used buttons and ribbons to add a little more fun.

Spring is coming and that means more time outdoors enjoying the sunshine and fresh air! Time for flowers, bees and playing in the dirt. Enjoy!!!!!
