There is still snow on the ground, but when March rolls around I am ready for spring! I love decorating our home for Christmas….then the house looks “naked” when all the holiday decorations come down. What do you decorate with from Christmas to spring – a few snowmen and evergreen? Just not as fun! But when spring time comes – the pastel colors, bunnies and chicks create a fun environment again!

My decorations include a combination of traditional decorations we have had for years to thrift shop treasures, to new “toys” I couldn’t resist. In the next few posts I will share some of the little collections and spring vignettes that I have created.

I usually put a placemat, tray or cutting board, under the collection. This makes it easier to move, if needed, or to clean. Sprinkle a bit of Easter grass and eggs to complete the look. Our living room now has spring sprinkled throughout.

and some of my favorite spring flowers – peonies and lily of the valley.

I like to mix blue and white pieces in throughout the living room.

many homes had a copy of this book and the Betty Crocker cookbook (or so I am told).
So fun to look at and to decorate with.
As the holidays and seasons change, it gives us the opportunity to be creative. I like to use a combination of things we have used many times and a few new ones to make it feel like home, but a bit different each time.
Enjoy decorating for spring! More ideas in the next post.
