Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread

Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread

It seems like we always end up with a few extra bananas every time we buy them, it doesn’t seem to matter if we buy a bunch or a few. When I saw this recipe for Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread I thought it would be a good addition to our banana recipes.

You mix up the batter and then you add cocoa powder to half of it. Then you alternate scoops of the two different batters in your baking dish and then gently swirl them together.

How pretty! The chocolate and the sweet banana flavors balance and compliment each other.

This bread tastes good at room temperature – or I really like it toasted with a bit of butter. So easy – but it will make you feel like a creative baker. Enjoy!

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins with Cinnamon Streusel

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins with Cinnamon Streusel

One of the great things about a banana muffin is that you can tell yourself that it is really healthy! Even if it does have chocolate chips, walnuts and sugar in it! No guilt means happier snacking! These are super moist and have so much flavor.

You start by making the streusel. Mix together cinnamon, brown sugar, chocolate chips and walnuts (optional).

Mix up your batter. Line your muffin tins and place about 1 tablespoon of batter into each muffin cup. Sprinkle with streusel.

Layer another spoonful of batter on top and layer with more streusel. Continue to layer batter and streusel into each muffin tin, ending with streusel layer.

Top with any remaining streusel. Then I sprinkle a bit of sanding sugar on top.

Bake for about 20 minutes, allow to cool for 5 minutes in the muffin tin, then transfer to wire rack to complete cooling. Doesn’t it look delicious?

Double Chocolate Muffins

Double Chocolate Muffins

Lots and lots of chocolate chips in these muffins! These were inspired by Costco’s giant chocolate muffins…but this homemade version is so much better!!!

Cocoa powder, along with the chocolate chips, give these muffins a wonderful deep chocolate flavor and the addition of sour cream into the muffin batter makes them super moist muffins.

This recipe will make 12 standard size muffins – or 6 jumbo muffins. Which one to make? Would you prefer to have “more” muffins or “more muffin”? Might depend on the day!

Look at how rich and gooey this look! Just what you need for breakfast – or a snack! If you like a warm muffin, just pop one in the microwave for about 10 seconds right before you eat it. YUM!

You can even turn it into a party dessert! Chocolate is always a good choice – and this recipe is one you will want to add to your collection! Enjoy!
