Bake Brown Butter M&M Cookie Bars – for Valentine’s Day

Bake Brown Butter M&M Cookie Bars – for Valentine’s Day

Did you say “Triple the Chocolate Please?” These cookie bars have semi-sweet chocolate chips, M&Ms and chocolate kisses. Just imagine these warm from the oven! What a treat!

This is an easy cookie recipe to make and can be ready to eat in less than an hour. The dough is just pressed into your baking dish – no chilling, no rolling and no scooping required! Bake until the cookies are a lovely golden brown color and then sprinkle halved chocolate kisses over the top.

The original recipe from Half Baked Harvest was called Brown Butter Christmas M&M Cookie Bars. Since I didn’t get around to baking them for Christmas, I decided to try them with Valentine M&Ms. The holiday M&Ms add so much color!

A new way to add chocolate kisses to your cookies is to halve them and sprinkle on cookie bars right after they are done baking. Then pop back into the oven for 1-2 minutes to slightly melt the chocolate.

Fun to eat and fun to share! Add a few extra holiday kisses and holiday M&Ms for a festive cookie tray – to eat or give away. Enjoy!

Easy Holiday Appetizer – Pastry Wrapped Cranberry Baked Brie

Easy Holiday Appetizer – Pastry Wrapped Cranberry Baked Brie

I made this appetizer last weekend and it was DELCIOUS!!! And so EASY! You make a cranberry sauce out of fresh cranberries (or you can use purchased cranberry sauce). Then wrap a sheet of puff pastry around a wheel of brie cheese that has been topped with the cranberry sauce and pecans – then bake.

I really like cranberries – and the combination of the tart cranberries and the creamy brie cheese was so good!

This is a recipe from the Half Baked Harvest blog and the author said you could serve it with your favorite crackers, bread – or just eat it with a spoon! So right! Delicious all three ways!

Happy Holidays!

Halloween Candy Makes Delicious Cookies

Halloween Candy Makes Delicious Cookies

Do you have leftover Halloween candy? Did you know you can use that candy to make fun and delicious cookies?

Grab your favorite combinations of your Halloween candy – you might have to snack on one or two as you sort through all of it!

You will need about 2 cups of roughly chopped up candy. You could divide the dough in half and add different candy combinations to each half. That way you can make everyone happy! I added a few dark chocolate chips to the mix.

Chop up some extra candy to put on top right after you take them out of the oven. It makes them so much prettier – and more candy has to make it better – right? If you add Ghoul’s Mix, regular M&M’s or Reece’s Pieces to the top it will make them more colorful and festive. Our Halloween candy combinations did not have any of those this year – oh well. You could also add sugar eyeballs or sprinkles to the decorations.

Yum!!! Like an extra special chocolate chip cookie add dressed up for a party! But since the party is over…you get to enjoy them all to yourself…but probably should share! After all two more holidays – with lots of food coming up!
