Valentine’s Day is coming soon! This would be a fun family dessert to make to celebrate. It tastes like a sugar cookie, but is the thickness of a cake. The outside edge is crispy and the inside has the texture of a sugar cookie. Great combination!

My sister and I were talking about baking dishes the other day and we decided that pretty dishes make everything taste better! And just make the food more fun! You could also make this in a 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 inch baking dish and cut it into squares.

This is a very easy recipe. Preheat your oven, then cream butter, oil and sugars. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Add dry ingredients and mix just to combine.

Press dough into lightly sprayed baking dish. You can place a piece of wax paper over the top of the dough to smooth it out. Place M&Ms on top, if desired.

Bake 20-22 minutes until top and edges are light golden brown. An inserted toothpick should have just a few crumbs attached to it when checking to see if it is done.

Let cool completely and cut into wedges, squares, or hearts. You might want to add a few extra M&Ms to your serving dish.

This would make a fun birthday or special occasion cake. You could serve it with a bit of whipped topping and holiday sprinkles, frost with your favorite frosting, or just add a dusting of powdered sugar.
