I have been experimenting to find the right amount of “poofiness” for my rag quilts. Too much loft or thickness makes it difficult to keep the pieces true to shape but I want as much softness as possible. This quilt was made with a low loft batting which seems to be the right balance.

Sometimes I use different fabric on the front and back. This is the method used when I just can’t decide which combination to use. It’s like having two quilts in one!
