Halloween Candy Makes Delicious Cookies

Halloween Candy Makes Delicious Cookies

Do you have leftover Halloween candy? Did you know you can use that candy to make fun and delicious cookies?

Grab your favorite combinations of your Halloween candy – you might have to snack on one or two as you sort through all of it!

You will need about 2 cups of roughly chopped up candy. You could divide the dough in half and add different candy combinations to each half. That way you can make everyone happy! I added a few dark chocolate chips to the mix.

Chop up some extra candy to put on top right after you take them out of the oven. It makes them so much prettier – and more candy has to make it better – right? If you add Ghoul’s Mix, regular M&M’s or Reece’s Pieces to the top it will make them more colorful and festive. Our Halloween candy combinations did not have any of those this year – oh well. You could also add sugar eyeballs or sprinkles to the decorations.

Yum!!! Like an extra special chocolate chip cookie add dressed up for a party! But since the party is over…you get to enjoy them all to yourself…but probably should share! After all two more holidays – with lots of food coming up!

Jumbo Double Chocolate Muffins

Jumbo Double Chocolate Muffins

Look at that jumbo muffin!!! And since it is called a “muffin” – you can eat it for breakfast – right? Or warm it up and top with ice cream for dessert after dinner. If you love chocolate, you will want to make these.

But wait – there is more! When I was buying groceries last week, I noticed a new flavor of chocolate chips in the baking aisle – chocolate chips flavored with espresso! So into the cart they went.

They are delicious! If you like coffee and chocolate combined, you will want to try these new chips in your favorite chocolate chip recipe.

My youngest son has a birthday this week, so I decided to make these into birthday treats to share with him. I added a few sprinkles and a candle to one of the muffins to turn it into a birthday muffin. I know he eats much more healthier than I do, but a muffin is better than cake -right? Plus it is much easier to share on the go.

This recipe makes 6 jumbo muffins or 12 regular sized muffins. The recipe calls for 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips. The package has 2 cups of chips, so I mixed 1 1/2 cups of the espresso chips, along with 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips into the batter and then sprinkled the remaining 1/2 cup espresso chips on the top. YUM!

Even graduate students need treats from their Moms! Enjoy and Share!

Double Chocolate Muffins

Double Chocolate Muffins

Lots and lots of chocolate chips in these muffins! These were inspired by Costco’s giant chocolate muffins…but this homemade version is so much better!!!

Cocoa powder, along with the chocolate chips, give these muffins a wonderful deep chocolate flavor and the addition of sour cream into the muffin batter makes them super moist muffins.

This recipe will make 12 standard size muffins – or 6 jumbo muffins. Which one to make? Would you prefer to have “more” muffins or “more muffin”? Might depend on the day!

Look at how rich and gooey this look! Just what you need for breakfast – or a snack! If you like a warm muffin, just pop one in the microwave for about 10 seconds right before you eat it. YUM!

You can even turn it into a party dessert! Chocolate is always a good choice – and this recipe is one you will want to add to your collection! Enjoy!
