My Maple Farm Country Market Quilt is Finished!

Doesn’t it feel great to finish a project? Last year I bought a Tilda Maple Farm jelly roll because I loved the soft autumn colors and the vintage look of the fabric. Then I couldn’t decide what to use it for. Does that ever happen to you? When I saw the Country Market design in the Jelly Roll Jam Book I thought it would be the perfect pattern for this fabric collection.

After I pieced together the column sections, I went to our local quilt shop, Crossroads Quilting, and picked out the solid Tilda cream fabric for the outside border and a Moda checkered fabric for the column border and the binding. They also helped me select the floral Tilda backing.

Such nice soft colors in shades of blue, gray, yellow and red in vintage floral designs. Thrown over a bench at Wallace State Park, it looks ready for a picnic.

Kristi Ryan, Kristie’s Quilting, did a beautiful job with the free motion quilting. She takes a pieced quilt top and turns it into a work of art. Notice how she uses different quilting designs to highlight each section on the quilt.

Even though it was a summer sewing project, it will be perfect for fall decorating.

Always remember to put your name and date on your creations – no matter what media you use. I used my embroidery machine to create a label for the back of the quilt.
