Stained Glass Window Sugar Cookies – A Holiday Classic

Stained Glass Window Sugar Cookies are crisp buttery cookies that are cut into festive shapes, then filled with crushed hard candies. When the cookies are baked, the candy melts resulting in a beautiful stained glass effect.

One important part of the success of these cookies is to roll out the dough before you chill it. Then once the dough is chilled, cut out the shapes. This is so much easier than chilling the dough, and then trying to roll it out.

A beautiful cookie to add to your holiday cookie trays this year!

Make a few extra to share with friends and family. Have fun doing your holiday baking!
