What???? Did you know you can make your own animal crackers? Begin by buying – or borrowing – some small animal cookie cutters. Amazon has a wide variety of cookie cutters that you can choose from to purchase.

Mix up the cookie dough and refrigerate about 2 hours. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Roll out the dough 1/4 inch thick and cut out as many animal shapes as you can.

Place the cookies on the cookie sheet (you can parchment down first to make them easier to remove, if you like). Bake 8-10 minutes until just set.

Let the cookies cool before frosting.

Make the frosting and drizzle over the cookies, add decorations if you want. (I thought the glaze in the recipe was a bit thin, you might add just part of the water and add the remainder slowly to get the consistency that you want.)

Let the frosting dry about 2 hours before serving or putting in gift bags.

Make someone’s day by giving them a gift of homemade animal crackers.

I made a batch of animal crackers and No-Bake Chocolate Cookies for the office. Fun addition to the staff lunch.
