Plant “Popping” Perennials

Is it time to add a pop of color to your landscaping? This weekend, we stopped at a greenhouse and I found some gorgeous perennial plants that I decided I needed to add to our yard.

It started when I saw these “Hot and Cold Red Hot Poker” (Pyromania) plants. These will definitely add a little drama to your landscape. Their spiky flowers are are tangerine, orange and cream on a grassy foliage. They should grow up to 30-36 inches. The “False Sunflowers” (Tuscan Gold) added such a pretty shade of yellow and looked so pretty with them.

And of course, it is hard to resist a bright coneflower! These are a mixed strain, with shades of reddish-orange and pinkish red. Coneflowers also come in a variety of heights, this one is a shorter one.

Love these incredible colors! They really brightened up our corner.

These should require a minimum of care and come back each year. Deadheading them will create a longer blooming time.

Always fun to “play in the dirt.” Enjoy being outside and adding beautiful flowers to your yard and garden.
