Let it Snow! Christmas is on the Way!

Let it Snow! Christmas is on the Way!

Oh no! Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are all sneaking up on us! What projects do you have lined up for the holidays? I had ordered this “Let It Snow” mini-quilt several months ago and just finished it. Now time for the next project!

This “Let it Snow” kit was from Anka’s Treasures, several color variations are available and you can also order a printed or PDF pattern. This is after it was all pieced.

What a difference the quilting makes! Just makes it look so cozy and homey! Mary Kay Lambert did such an amazing job quilting this!

The quilting pattern is perfect! Looks like swirling snowflakes.

Always embroiderer or put a label on your quilts, to identify who made them and what year.

I loved the cute little home and Christmas trees with the snow flakes falling around them.

I decided to experiment with some holiday embellishments. I tried a variety of buttons and holiday decorations.

In the end, I decided to add just a few. The dog at the front door look Goldie, our dog when the kids were growing up. The little cardinal in the window and candy canes just seemed to complete the house.

Enjoy being creative! Sewing allows you be create treasures that can be

personalized. It is usually very relaxing and therapeutic (well – it can get frustrating

when you have to rip and redo!)

So be on the lookout for treasured gifts to make or holiday projects for your home.

Happy Holidays!

Have Fun Making Halloween Tees

Have Fun Making Halloween Tees

We are almost halfway through September! Time just goes by so quickly! Halloween – and even Christmas-decorations are on display at the stores. I decided to decorate some t-shirts for Berkley with fall and Halloween themes. All of these heat-transfer vinyl designs are available on Etsy and they were cut out on my Cricut machine.

This one is my favorite! It is the Pumpkin Crane, from the Crazy Crafty Lady Company.

Every little kid needs a spider shirt for Halloween. This pattern is from the Pretty Vectors Lab. (The black and white splotches on the shirt are just part of the Halloween frame, they are not part of the pattern.)

I remember when Pac-Man first came out! This Halloween Pumpkin Game design is from The Silly Beans shop.

I had never used the foil HTV before, I think the solid black vinyl might have looked better, but it was a fun experiment. Scarlett Rose Cuts offers this design on Etsy.

Ahhh….my boy holding his boy. How sweet is that? Little Berkley is so fun and inspires me to create some cute little t-shirts.

The Halloween theme backgrounds and frames are from the PhotoRoom app. This app allows you to easily erase the background and then you can be creative with a wide range of colors, frames, backgrounds and text.

Happy Fall and Happy Halloween!

Adorable Bunny Cupcakes – A Delightful Easter Treat!

Adorable Bunny Cupcakes – A Delightful Easter Treat!

These little Bunny Cupcakes will definitely bring springtime cheer to your Easter celebrations! They are so delicious and adorable!

These super cute bunny tales and toes are available from Fancy Flours, but there are versions you can make with frosting, fondant and marshmallows. You can do a Pinterest search for fun Easter cupcake ideas.

It would be so fun to add these to your Easter menu. I am so excited that we will be able to have family together this year!

Kids would love to “hop” into the kitchen to help you make these. Just make your favorite cupcake and then frost them with vanilla buttercream frosting. Place shredded coconut in a bowl and lightly press an upside down frosted cupcake into the coconut. Turn right side up and gently press the coconut into the frosting, then press the bunny tales and toes in place. I found that I needed to go back and press some of the toes and tails down again as the frosting settled.

These are sure to make little kids – and big kids – smile! I think I will have one for breakfast with my coffee!!! Enjoy!

I used the Vanilla Cupcakes recipe from The Sprinkles Baking Book by Candace Nelson. The link below has the recipe and an instructional video:

If you like to make cupcakes, this is a really fun book – to look through and to bake from:
