Combine crumbs and melted butter and place in 9x13 pan reserving some crumbs for the topping if desired. Cover and freeze.Beat the egg whites until stiff and combine with other filling ingredients. Spread over crumb layer and freeze until hard.Soften ice cream and spread over chocolate layer, top with crumbs or any topping you prefer. Cover and freeze.
Notes
It is much easier to spread the ice cream if the chocolate layer is completely frozen and the ice cream softened. This is not a time to speed up the process. The original recipe I had included nuts and coconut but I prefer it without.Using sprinkles or frosting to decorate or any topping you like makes this a very versatile, delicious dessert.
