Ingredients
1/2cupsugar
3cupsflour
2teaspoonsbaking soda
1teaspoonsalt
2teaspoonspowdered ginger
2teaspoonscinnamon
1/2teaspooncloves
1/2teaspoonnutmeg
1/2poundbutter, cut into small pieces
1/2cuphoney
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift the sugar, flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg together in a mixing bowl (or whisk together if you don't have a sifter).
Using a pastry blender or your finger tips, mix the butter into the dry ingredients until mixture until blended together.
Add the honey and stir with spoon or mixer until all ingredients are blended together.
Gather up dough into a ball and divide in half. Take half of the dough and press together and flatten slightly into a rectangle. Place dough between two pieces of parchment paper and roll out about 1/8" thick. Cut out with gingerbread people or houses.
Place cut out cookies on a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper or silicone mat, and bake 12-15 at 350 degrees.
Remove from oven, and cool on baking sheet 1-2 minutes, then continue cooling on a cooling rack.
